Abstract

This Law here determines the right to access information and reuse documents in the possession of the government institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, legal entities that establish institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the provisions of the Law on registration of legal entities that establish institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of BiH 37/2003 and 76/2011) and independent bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina established by special laws. The aim of this Law is to enable and ensure the realization of the right to free access to information for natural and legal persons, through the openness and publicity of the activities of BiH institutions, in accordance with international treaties on human rights and freedoms and generally accepted rules of international law, this and other laws, in order to achieve and protection of public interests and realization of free and democratic order and open society. All information of BiH institutions is considered open and public, unless the non-publication is fully justified and based on exceptions prescribed by specific law.
