Abstract This Law regulates: the requirements to the food safety; the requirements to the business operators and the persons, working in sites for production, processing and/or distribution of foods; the requirements for packaging, labelling, presentation and advertising of foods; the requirements for production, processing and/or distribution of food (including HACCP issues); the requirements to sites for production and wholesale trade and the requirements for retail trade in materials and objects, intended for contact with food; the requirements for transportation of food; the requirements for distance food trade; the requirements for the natural mineral, spring and table waters; the requirements to the foods, intended for infants and small children, the foods for special medical purposes and the foods in which vitamins, minerals and some other substances are invested; the requirements to the additives, enzymes and flavorings in foods and food additives; the requirements to the foods, intended for use at intensive muscular loading; the requirements to the genetically modified foods; the requirements to the foods treated with ionizing radiation; the requirements to the smoke flavorings, used or intended for use in or on foods; the requirements to the new foods; the conditions and the order for carrying out food banking; the bodies for official control over the production, processing and/or distribution of food; the conditions and the order for food export; the functions of the National Food Council; the functions and powers of the branch organizations of food producers, processors and/or distributors; the requirements to the activity of the Conciliation Commission. These provisions shall not apply to: the primary production of food for personal consumption in the household; the preparation and storage at home of foods intended for personal consumption in the household; the production, receipt, processing, labelling and trade in food under article 1 of the Wine and Spirits Act. This Law aims to: ensure a high level of protection of the health and interests of consumers with regard to food; ensure the application of laws of the European Union and of national measures in food sector.
