Abstract

The present Law lays down provisions relating to fisheries in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Article 1 establishes that the right to catch fish and crustacean in public waters and in connected canals, as well as in ponds belongs to the state except for special privileges of local authorities and private individuals as far as they exist and can be proved. However, even in such a case special fishing rights may be exercised only within the frame of the federal legislation, and the present Law or executing Ordinances. The text consists of 6 articles as follows: Fishing rights (1); Administration and surveillance (2); Issuance of further provisions (3); Penal provisions (4); Repeal of existing legislation (5); Entry into force (6).
