This Law enters into force on 1 July 1998.
Abstract

This Law controls timber exports in Georgia in order to: (a) ensure the efficient utilization of forest resources based on sustainable development principles; and (b) facilitate the protection of the environment and natural resources. The following types of timber export are subject to licensing: (a) “wood for heating purposes (firewood) cuttings of branches, cheeps, brushwood or something similar to it” - group 44 of the harmonized system of foreign economic activity (commodity code number 4401
