Environmental monitoring means the systematic observation of the state of the environment and its components including evaluation and impact (art. 2). The Ministry of Environmental Protection together with other state institutions, shall prepare the State programme of environmental monitoring. This programme shall be approved by the Government (art. 8). State environmental monitoring shall be funded from the State Budget and money from the fund for nature protection (art. 13). The quality of environmental monitoring data shall be ensured by creating and implementing a quality control system of state data (art. 15).
