Abstract The scope of this Law shall be regulation of mandatory enrichment of certain types of foodstuffs with a view of protection of public health and prevention of the deficiency of certain vitamins and minerals. The objective shall be to ensure safety of foodstuffs and conformity of standards and technical requirements set forth for foodstuffs. This Law shall be applicable to processing of foodstuffs containing certain vitamins and minerals, import and export thereof. Enriched foodstuffs shall be intended foodstuffs with food additives in the form of vitamins and minerals, in separate form or in mixed form. Food enrichment shall be intended addition of concentrated food additives containing vitamins and minerals in accordance with specific standard. Business entity performing manufacturing of enriched foodstuffs shall have the right to state support and incentives. Business entity performing manufacturing of enriched foodstuffs shall have the following duties: (a) to manufacture enriched foodstuffs in accordance with established standards; (b) to supply enriched foodstuffs to public certified by accredited laboratory; (c) to label enriched foodstuffs in accordance with the established modalities; (d) to register enriched foodstuffs with public authorities; and (e) to have equipment for the enrichment of foodstuffs. State inspector shall supervise food quality and standards of production of enriched foodstuffs and shall control trading organizations. This Law consists of IV Chapters divided into 13 Articles. Chapter I lays down general provisions. Chapter II regards arrangements for organizational activities. Chapter III regards supervision and control of enriched foodstuffs.
