Abstract This Law sets the provisions as regards the child protection of Brcko District (which is part of Bosnia and Herzegovina). Child protection aims to provide each child with approximately equal conditions for healthy and proper physical, intellectual and emotional development in the family. The right under this law is exercised by persons who, for at least two continuous years from the date of submission of the application, have resided in the territory of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The rights in the field of child protection in terms of this law are: 1. salary compensation during maternity leave; 2. maternity allowance; 3. aid for the equipment of a newborn; 4. allowance for children; 5. special psychosocial treatment of spouses who want children and pregnant women.
