The present Law enters into force on 1 January 2003.
Abstract

The present Law lays down provisions relating to agriculture. With a view to protect the environment, the Canton shall, in collaboration with agricultural organizations and interest groups, promote agriculture, improve production, protect the farmers and promote sustainable development of the countryside and landscape. The text consists of 48 articles divided into 10 chapters as follows: Sphere of application (I); Professional training (II); Structural improvements (III); Promotion of exchanges and quality of agricultural products (IV); Supplementary provisions (V); Veterinary stations and cattle insurance (VI); Provisions in case of disasters, protection of crops (VII); Agricultural organizations (VIII); Application of the Law and various provisions (IX); Transitory and final provisions (X).
