Abstract

This Act makes provisions for measures and activities relative to the protection of health of domestic animals. Veterinary activity is carried out by the State Veterinary Service of the Ministry of Agriculture, and by veterinary bodies of other Ministries and other (private) organizations. The basic tasks of the State Veterinary service are outlined in article 3. The top management body in the field is the Main department of Veterinary Management of the Ministry (art. 5). Article 5 also describes functions of regional veterinary bodies. The remaining provisions of the Act regulate private practice of veterinarians, and provide for supervision by the State Veterinary Inspector of Tajikistan and Veterinary Inspectors of various regions, districts, etc. Article 15 defines "quarantine".
