This Act enters into force on 11 March 2014.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 122 articles divided into XIX Chapters, provides for the Law on Trade. In this Act referred to as: 1. Trade is the order of the activities related to the transaction of goods and/or services in the country and beyond the borders of the country with the purpose of transfer of rights to the Goods and/or Services to obtain rewards or compensation. 2. Domestic Trade is the Sale of Goods and/or Services within the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, which does not include the Foreign Trade. 3. Foreign Trade is trade that includes export activities and/or Import of Goods and/or Services trade beyond the borders of the country. 4. Border Trade is trade conducted by Indonesian citizens residing in border areas of Indonesia with a population of neighbouring countries to meet their daily needs. Trade policy is based on the principle: a. national interests; b. legal certainty; c. fair and healthy; d. business security; e. accountable and transparent; f. independence; g. partnerships; h. expediency; i. simplicity; j. togetherness; and k. environmentally sound.
