Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force seven days after the date of its official publication.
Abstract

The preamble of the Law shall be stated as follows: "This Law governs relationships related to identification, registration, traceability of animals, as well as products of animal origin, defines the organizational, legal and financial framework for identification of animals, establishes the basic principles of organization and performance of this work on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and is aimed at creation of conditions ensuring obtaining reliable information about identified animals and products of animal origin." Article 4 states that livestock breeding farms shall be subject to mandatory identification and registration of animals, except for animals staying in the state of natural freedom. Article 9 shall be amended to add the following wording: “The authorized state body for veterinary medicine delegates its powers related to identification and registration of animals and farms to the relevant state bodies, state enterprises, local government and persons involved in private veterinary practice on a contractual basis.”
