This Law defines the concept, purpose and principles of official statistics, and determines the legal grounds for keeping statistics, and for storing and disseminating information obtained as a result of the keeping of statistics, and for carrying out the general census of population, and determines the system and functions of the authorities responsible for keeping official statistics. This Law applies to all resident legal and natural persons of Georgia, and to all non-resident persons staying in the territory of Georgia as provided for by the legislation of Georgia.
