Abstract This amendment to the 2010 Law addresses three key aspects: (i) the Ministry's licensing of interested investors in independent conventional generation projects (Article 9); (ii) the procurement of surplus electricity by the authorized entity for conventional generation from the General Corporation for Electricity Transmission, Distribution, or the Governorate Electricity Company (Article 14); and (iii) regulations pertaining to investments in electricity generated from renewable sources (Article 30).
