Abstract The present Law determines the principles of state policy in the sphere of tourism, regulates the relations originating from the realization by the citizens of the Republic of Belarus, foreign nationals, stateless persons of the right to temporary stay (travels) into the country (place) of temporary stay for the health-improving, educational and other purposes that are not contradictory to the current legislation. Among various types of tourism the Law specifies ecological tourism that includes travels for the purpose of ecological upbringing and education of tourists. State regulation of tourist activities envisages creation of preferential conditions for children and youth and the development of social, ecological and amateur tourism. State cadastre of tourist resources contains information about the status of these resources, their geographical position and boundaries, land use, scientific, economical, historical, ecological and cultural value, as well as the modalities of their protection.
