Abstract The scope of this Law is to regulate relations in the field of privatization of land plots of non-agricultural destination. Privatization of a land plot shall be intended alienation of non-agricultural land pertaining to state ownership, and transfer thereof in the ownership of citizens and (or) legal entities of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The main principles of land privatization are: legality; voluntariness; compensation; integrity of privatized land plots and located real estate objects on them; and openness and transparency. Objects of privatization are: (a) land provided for entrepreneurial activities and urban land-use planning to legal entities; (b) land plots provided to citizens of the Republic Uzbekistan for individual housing construction and maintenance of a residential building, as well as the implementation of entrepreneurial and urban land-use planning activities; (c) land plots on which are located objects of state-owned real estate subject to privatization; and (d) free land. Privatization of land plots is carried out in the following forms: (a) redemption by subjects of privatization of land plots allotted thereto with the right of permanent use (possession), lease or lifetime inheritable possession; and (b) purchase of land plots through an electronic online auction. This Law contains 6 Chapters divided into 44 Articles. Chapter 1 lays down general provisions. Chapter 2 regards state management in the field of privatization of land plots. Chapter 3 regards privatization of land plots pertaining to the subjects of privatization on the rights of permanent use (ownership), lease or lifelong inheritable possession. Chapter 4 regards privatization of land plots through electronic online auction. Chapter 5 establishes legal status of privatized land plots. Chapter 6 lays down final provisions.
