Abstract The scope of this Law shall be to regulate relations in the sphere of geographic indications either on the national territory or outside it in relation to use thereof on the national territory (Art. 1). Attribution of misleading names and also incompatible with history, traditions and culture of the peoples of Uzbekistan shall be prohibited (Art. 6). Attribution of names and re-naming of natural areas shall be carried out by the Cabinet of Ministers in accordance with proposals submitted by local state bodies (Art. 11). The main scope of attribution of geographic indications shall be to preserve national historical and cultural heritage (Art. 12). Geographic indications shall be subject to state registration (Art. 16). Names of geographic indications shall be protected by the state (Art. 18). Full text Russian Website lex.uz
