Abstract This Law determines the procedure for the prevention, diagnosis of a disease caused by the immunodeficiency virus of a person, and exercising supervision over him, as well as organizational, legal, economic and financial basis for the prevention of a disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus. This Law applies to citizens of the Republic of Armenia, foreign citizens and stateless persons, as well as to enterprises, institutions and organizations (regardless of the form of ownership) operating in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. Social protection of persons at risk of contracting HIV infection in areas of labor regards employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations providing diagnostics and treatment of HIV-infected persons, as well as persons whose work is related to materials containing HIV infection, shall be established as follows: (a) wage supplement; (b) shorter working hours; (c) additional remuneration; and (d) additional vacation. The conditions and procedure for granting the above benefits are established by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Healthcare managers are obliged to ensure the safety measures and conditions necessary for fulfillment by medical workers of their duties in the manner prescribed by the state body authorized Government of the Republic Armenia.
