This Law enters into force on 1 May 2018.
Abstract

Article 14 shall be amended to add the following wording: “1. The applicant may file a patent application himself or through a patent trustee, except in the case specified in paragraph 2 of this article. 2. An applicant for permanent residence in the Republic of Lithuania or a registered office or representation in the Republic of Lithuania of another country of the European Economic Area or a European Patent Convention Member State may submit a patent application to an employee authorized by the procedure established by legal acts. 3. Foreign citizens who do not permanently reside in the Republic of Lithuania or who do not have a permanent establishment, registered branch or representation in the Republic of Lithuania, another European Economic Area State or European Patent Convention State, perform actions related to the granting of a patent at the State Patent Bureau, including representation in the Appeals Division of the State Patent Bureau through the patent trustee. To file a patent application in accordance with Article 13 of this Law, to pay a fee pursuant to this Law and to receive a confirmation from the State Patent Bureau or a notification concerning such actions may also be performed by the person referred to in this paragraph.
