This Law enters into force on the date of its official publication.
Abstract

The purpose and the scope of this Law shall be projecting of a new nuclear power plant and creation of legal, financial and organizational grounds for realization of this project. The Act consists of 6 Sections divided into 20 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) realization of the project; (3) management; (4) national investor; (5) place of construction; and (6) conclusive provisions. The Parliament has approved construction of a new nuclear power plant. Laws and other legislative acts shall provide for application of special safety requirements for ensuring interests of the national security. The aforesaid special safety requirements shall be introduced by the Government. State supervision and control over the application of safety requirements shall be carried out through licensing of the operator of the new nuclear power plant. In case of nuclear disaster or risk of a nuclear disaster entailing risks for human life, health and environment, the Government or the authorized institution appointed thereby, shall assume management of the nuclear power plant. Plot of land for construction of the new nuclear plant can be expropriated for public needs. The Government shall inform the public of the realization of the project and on safety measures.
