Abstract Article 30.1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Applications for water use for the purpose of electric power generation by small hydroelectric power plants shall be rejected in the following cases: (a) presence of protected endemic fish species recorded in the national Red Book of protected species and spawning grounds thereof; (b) load through the diversion pipes is 40% and more; (c) location of water metering devices; (d) in central areas of direct impact on Sevan lake; (e) in areas within radius of 150 meters from natural monuments; (f) in aquatic ecosystems zones; (g) in river flow formation areas; (g) in river areas subject to landslides; and (h) on forest land.” Full text Armenian Website www.arlis.am References - Legislation Amends Water Code of the Republic of Armenia (Law No. HO-373-N).
