This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 6 Chapters, establishes the State Policy on the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension for Family Farming and Agrarian Reform of the State of Espírito Santo (PEATER/ES) and the State Programme of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension for Family Agriculture and Agrarian Reform of the State of Espírito Santo (PROATERES). Their management, social control and formulation will be of competence of the State Council for Sustainable Rural Development (CEDRS). They aim at promoting sustainable rural development and improving the quality of life of the beneficiaries; supporting economic initiatives that promote regional and local potentiality, especially promoting endogenous development processes; increasing production, quality and productivity of agricultural services and non-agricultural activities, including agro-extractive, forestry, fisheries, etc., respecting the principles of agroecology and sustainable development; advising the various stages of economic activities, business management, organization, production, market insertion and supply, including family farmers on the market; developing initiatives to use, manage, protect, conserve and rehabilitate natural resources, agricultural ecosystems and biodiversity; building sustainable production systems, considering the scientific and traditional knowledge, from agro-ecological foundations; contributing to increase the income of beneficiaries and add value to their production; stimulating, strengthening and structuring associations and cooperatives; promoting the development and appropriation of technical and organizational innovation; and integrating the local, regional and national production markets. The beneficiaries of PEATER/ES are: agrarian reform beneficiaries of the National Land Credit Program, indigenous peoples, quilombolas, pomeranians, gypsies, other people and traditional communities, urban and peri-urban farmers.
