Abstract

This Law sets out the framework governing the issue of concessions and related agreements between contracting public authorities and concessionaires. The application scope covers economic activities which would otherwise be carried out by the contracting public authority and which are related to a concession project, management contract or other public services. In particular, the Law applies to granting of concessions by contractual authorities for the economic activities listed out in article 4, which includes (i) generation and distribution of energy; (ii) production and distribution of water, treatment, collection, distribution and management of waste water, irrigation, drainage, cleaning of canals, dams; (iii) collection, transfer, processing and management of solid waste; (iv) natural gas distribution.
