Abstract This Law, consisting of 13 Chapters, establishes State trade control over seeds and planting material in the state of Mato Grosso. This Law sets forth all needed requirements and regulates specific measures, in order to ensure the quality, identity and origin of seeds and propagating material based on regulations and minimum standards valid throughout the national territory, established by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply - MAPA. This Law applies to all individuals, legal, public or private entities that store, transport, sell, repackage and use seeds and seedlings with trade purpose with the purpose of sowing and planting. All legal public or private entities, performing seed and seedlings trade activity within the state of Mato Grosso are required to register in INDEA/MT, except in cases authorized by Law. In addition, to do so, these entities are required to proof an adequate physical space for the preservation of quality standards of the plant propagating material.
