Abstract The document consists of 10 Chapters that contain 41 articles. The present Act regulates relations in the sphere of transportation through trunk pipelines of oil and natural gas and is aimed at ensuring efficient, reliable and safe running of trunk pipelines. Ecological safety is a complex of arrangements for the protection of environment against potential negative impact as result of running trunk pipeline. State regulation in the sphere of trunk pipelines includes: 1. establishment of requirements of ecological safety; 2. determination of the modalities of liquidation of the consequences of disasters at trunk pipelines. State standards for trunk pipelines shall be elaborated for the purpose of the prevention of environmental damage. State survey and control in the sphere of trunk pipelines includes: 1. state environmental audit of project documentation regarding trunk pipelines; 2. state ecological monitoring of the system of trunk pipelines. Project documentation for the creation of trunk pipeline is not subject to realization without positive resolution of state environmental audit. Industrial ecological monitoring in the process of running trunk pipeline includes control over emissions (discharge) of pollutants into environment and other negative environmental impact.
