Abstract This Law, consisting of 17 articles, creates the Sustainable Xingu River Plan, focused exclusively on the economic and social development of the Xingu region in the State of Pará, composed of Municipalities impacted by the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant, according to the Territorial Socioeconomy Plan (PTS), resulting from the Strategic Territorial Assessment. Until the Strategic Territorial Assessment (ATE) pertinent to the Xingu region is carried out, the financing linked to the Sustainable Xingu Plan will cover the Municipalities of the direct and indirect area of influence of the Belo Monte hydroelectric project.
