The objective of this Law, which includes 26 articles, is to define the procedure of silkworm activities in Turkey. The Ministry of Agriculture is the sole agency for producing, sale, free of charge distribution and inspection of silkworm. Producing silkworm germ other than Pasteur procedure is prohibited. Importing silkworm germ from any third country is prohibited. Imports can only be made by the Ministry of Agriculture when deemed necessary. Silkworm germs can be distributed free of charge to the producers by the Ministry of Agriculture. Mulberry gardens will be established in locations defined by the Ministry of Agriculture. The Ministry of Agriculture shall establish sample workshops in suitable locations and one laboratory for inspection. Full text English
