Abstract This Law, consisting of 31 articles divided into six Chapters, creates the State Code on Animal Protection within the State of Sergipe. This Code establishes the standards for animal protection in order to reconcile socio-economic development with environmental preservation. It specifies the requirements to be satisfied in order to preserve wild, exotic, native, and domestic animal health conditions, including those used for scientific purpose.
