This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 14 articles divided into four Chapters, provides for the State System of Food and Nutrition Security and on the State Plan of Food and Nutrition Security, with the aim to ensuring the human right to adequate food in the State of Roraima. This State Policy will be implemented through an integrated and intersectoral plan of government actions and civil society, being determinant for the public sector and indicative for society. The State Policy is governed by the guidelines established in Law 11.346 of 2006 and Presidential Decree 7272 of 25 August 2010. The objectives of the State Plan of Food and Nutritional Security of Roraima are: - to identify, analyse, disseminate and act on the factors determining food and nutritional insecurity in the State of Roraima; - articulate programmes and actions of diverse sectors that respect, protect, promote and provide the men, women and children right to adequate food, observing the social, cultural, environmental, ethnic diversity, gender equality, as well as, making available instruments for their enforcing; - promote sustainable, agroecological-based systems for the production and distribution of food that respect biodiversity and strengthen family agriculture, indigenous peoples and traditional communities, and ensure consumption and access to adequate and healthy food, while respecting the diversity of state food culture; - incorporate into State policy respect for food sovereignty and the guarantee of the human right to adequate food, etc.
