Abstract This Law, consisting of 58 articles divided into eleven Chapters and one Annex, creates the Industrial and Sanitary Inspection Service for Products of Animal Origin in the State of Alagoas, responsible to carry out agro-industrial and sanitary inspection on products and by-products of animal origin. It establishes the mandatory inspection of all products and by-products of animal origin, intended for human consumption or not, whether or not added vegetable products, prepared, processed, handled, received, packaged, deposited and in transit. The objects of this inspection are: I - animals destined for slaughter, their products, by-products and raw materials; II - fish and its derivatives; III - milk and its derivatives; IV - eggs and their derivatives; and V - bee products and their derivatives. The purpose of the inspection is to guarantee the protection of the health of the population, and the identity, quality and sanitary safety of products of animal origin intended for consumers.
