Abstract This Law, consisting of 77 articles divided into eleven Chapter and one glossary, establishes the legal regime governing the safe and peaceful use of nuclear energy, its application as well as ionizing radiation, for the protection of the individual, property and the environment from possible accidents involving radioactive material. This Law applies to all activities involving the peaceful use of nuclear energy or ionizing radiation in territory of Mozambique. These activities include in particular: a) those involving the use of nuclear material; b) those of the nuclear fuel cycle, including those relating to research and development and other related fuels; c) production and use of sources for medical, industrial, veterinary, agricultural, educational, training and research purposes, including activities related to such uses that may cause exposure to radiation or radioactive materials; d) others related to nuclear radiation.
