This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 16 articles, gives new structure and competencies to the Brazilian Institution for Tourism (Embratur), created by Decree-Law No. 55 of 18 November 1966. It makes provisions on the requirements to be met in order to exploit the Brazilian territory (including protected areas) for touristic purpose. It also prescribes offences and penalties for illegal activities.
