Abstract This Law, consisting of 16 articles creates the State Policy for Agroecology and Organic Production (PEAPO) with the purpose of promoting actions conducive to the agroecological transition and organic production, guiding the sustainable development and the quality of life of the populations in urban and rural areas, through the supply and consumption of healthy foodstuff with fair prices and the sustainable use of natural resources. This State Policy will be implemented by the State in cooperation with the Union, the municipalities, civil society organizations and other private entities.
