Abstract This Law establishes the principles and the modalities of carrying out environmental audit with a view of preventing negative environmental impact of managerial, economic and other activities. The scope of environmental audit shall be: (a) assistance to economic entities in determination of their ecological policy; (b) preventive arrangements for enforcement of ecological requirements; and (c) efficient regulation of nature management for ensuring sustainable development. The tasks of environmental audit shall be: (a) substantiation of ecological strategy and policy of economic entity; (b) setting forth priorities in planning of environmental protection activity; (c) control of observance of environmental legislation by economic entity; and (d) reduction of risks of the outbreak of disasters related to environmental pollution (Art. 3). Environmental audit shall be independent, mandatory or voluntary, and shall be based upon reliability and completeness of information (Arts. 4-5). Environmental audit shall be subject to licensing (Art. 8). Conclusion of environmental audit shall be issued upon fulfilment of environmental audit in accordance with the form validated by the authorized state institution (Art. 13).
