Abstract

This Law, consisting of 76 articles divided into seven Chapters and two Annexes, establishes the Procedures for Registering and Obtaining a License for Activities of Use and Management of Exotic and Native Wildlife in Ex-Situ, to be observed within the Policies of Management, Control and Management of the State of Alagoas. This Law governs the activities of sustainable use of native and exotic fauna, as well as the procedures and premises for the concession of Environmental Licensing of enterprises that make use and management of native or exotic fauna in ex-situ condition within the State of Alagoas. The management and sustainable use of fauna will be coordinated by the State Environmental Institute of Alagoas (IMA), which is responsible for executing the procedures established in this Law. For the control and management of information related to ex-situ fauna, IMA will initially adopt the SISFAUNA and SISPASS computerized systems, maintained by the Brazilian Environmental Institute (IBAMA), and may also adopt other systems and methods of management and control of fauna, whether computerized or not.
