Abstract This Law creates the Certificate of Environmental Quality called "Environmental Green Seal" to be granted by the State Secretariat of Environment and Water Resources (SEMARH) together with the State Environmental Institution (IMA). This Certificate applies to public and private institutions that adopt measures of preservation, protection and recovery of the environment in their activities, as well as to perform actions that aim at the sustainable development of the State and the improvement of the quality of life of the population. The "Environmental Green Seal" will be granted to public and private institutions of any nature, settled in the State of Alagoas, that comply with the provisions of this Law.
