Abstract This Law provides for alternatives to the use of ultralight plastic bags and plastic containers used for bread, fruit and vegetable. This Law requires to make available alternatives to consumers instead of ultralight plastic bags and plastic containers used for bread, fruits and vegetables. This Law applies to all shops selling bread, fruits and vegetables. Commercial establishments are prevented from making ultralight plastic bags available for primary packaging or transporting bread, fruits and vegetables from 1 June 2023. Commercial establishments are also prohibited from selling bread, fruits and vegetables in disposable containers containing expanded plastic or polystyrene from 1 June 2023. It does not apply to 100% biodegradable bags and packaging, materials of biological and renewable origin that are done through domestic, industrial or natural composting processes.
