This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 32 articles, provides for the Forestry Policy of the State of Tocantins. It establishes activities to be carried out in the domain of forestry sector and prescribes requirements to be satisfied in order to guarantee the conservation of quality of life, of ecological harmonization and the preservation of local ecosystems, observing the following principles: preservation and conservation of biodiversity; social function of ownership; rational and sustainable use of renewable natural resources; controlling the exploitation of native forests, forestry products and sub-products; developing actions aimed to respond to demand related to forestry sector; promoting the rehabilitation of degraded areas; protecting wild flora and fauna, etc.
