It consists of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate and the inspectors and operates both at central and local levels. It inspects the implementation of the sanitary laws and by-laws by all public and private entities in a variety of objects including the production, conservation, storage, transport and trade of all types of products. The Inspectorate may take samples from all food products and beverages for examination purposes and is entitled to suspend their production, storage, conservation and trade in case of non compliance with sanitary standards. The Law is composed of four Chapters: (I) Organization; (II) Responsibilities and tasks of the State Sanitary Inspectorate; (III) Sanitary Administrative Offences; (IV) Final Provisions.
