Abstract This Law amends article 15 of Law No. 5.736 to include the mandatory vaccination against brucellosis animal disease. Amended article, establishes in particular that vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease and brucellosis in cattle and buffalo are mandatory throughout the state of Espírito Santo. Vaccinations will always be paid for by the owner, the first of which must be carried out directly by him and the second by the executing agency of the programme in the State or by a registered or accredited veterinarian, within the periods established by the executing agency, in accordance with the legislation. Specific vaccination against brucellosis is mandatory for all females of the bovine and buffalo species, aged 3 to 8 months. The use of the B19 vaccine is prohibited in males of any age and in females over 8 months of age.
