Abstract This Law, consisting of 11 articles, establishes safety requirements for water dams and industrial toxic residues disposal. It specifies that the designing of water dams and toxic waste disposal in order must be licensed according to the environmental enforced legislation. The following activities, prior the construction of water dams and the disposal of industrial toxic residues disposal, must have: a hydrologic, geologic and weather forecast studies for a period of 10 years related to the hydrographic basin; and other safety standards in order to guarantee the stability of water dams and to prevent environmental and water pollution.
