Abstract This Law regulates the relations between consumers and manufacturers, performers, vendors in the sale of goods (performance of works, rendering of services), establishes the rights of consumers to purchase goods (works, services) of adequate quality and safe for life and health, receiving information about goods ( works, services) and their manufacturers (performers, sellers), provides state and public protection of consumers, and also determines the mechanism for the implementation of these rights. If the standard provides for mandatory requirements for the quality of the commodities, the vendor is obliged to transfer the goods meeting these requirements to the consumer. For foodstuffs the manufacturer must set an expiration date, nutritional qualities, composition, presence of food additives and presence of hazardous substances within limits set forth by standards. This Law consists of V Sections divided into 45 Articles. Section I lays down general provisions. Section II regards protection of consumers in the process of trade of commodities. Section III regards protection of consumers in the process of provision of works and services. Section IV regards state and social protection of consumers. Section V kays down final provisions.
