Abstract

Romania adheres to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, adopted in Washington on March 3, 1973. The Ministry of Water, Forests and Environmental Protection exercises the powers of the management body, in accordance with the provisions of art. 9 para. 1 lit. a) from the convention. The Romanian Academy and, as the case may be, the Forestry Research and Planning Institute exercise the powers of scientific authority, in accordance with the provisions of art. 9 para. 1 lit. b) from the convention.
