Abstract This Law regulates legal, organizational, financial and economic principles of state policy in the sphere of ecological education of the population. State policy in the field of environmental education of the population shall be considered activities of the authorized state bodies aimed at ensuring conditions for ecological education of the population and coordination of activities of public bodies, social associations and individuals related to formation of general and specifically ecological culture of the individual and the society. The basic principles of state policy in the field of ecological education shall be as follows: (a) ensuring state guarantees for obtaining by a citizen of the minimum required ecological knowledge; (b) compulsory ecological education at all levels of the educational system; (c) inclusion of ecological education in all target and sectoral programs; (d) targeting ecological education for the implementation of environmental protection objectives; (e) implementation of the state policy regarding ecological education; (f) transparency and openness in the implementation of state policy in the field of ecological education; and (g) public participation in the implementation of state policy in the sphere of ecological education.
