This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 31 articles divided into seven Chapters and two Annexes, provides for the Animal Sanitary Protection within the State of Pará. It establishes measures, policies and strategies to the specific practice of technical and administrative actions necessary for the maintenance of animal and public health and preservation of the interests of the state economy, complying with the conservation of the environment. It is under the responsibility of the State Agency for Agricultural and Livestock Protection of the State of Pará (ADEPARÁ) to perform the following activities: plan, implement, coordinate, articulate with other sectors, evaluate and supervise policies and programmes of animal health protection at the state level. ADEPARÁ shall establish the procedures, practices, prohibitions and inspections necessary for the promotion and protection of animal health through control or eradication of animal diseases.
