Abstract This Law, consisting of 21 articles and 3 Annexes, creates the Agency for animal and plant sanitary protection and inspection (ADEAL). It aims at the promotion and implementation of sanitary measures in order to avoid animal and plant diseases, through control and inspection on products of animal origin. This institution will be under the supervision of the Executive Secretary of Agriculture, Irrigation, Fisheries and Supply. Annexes specify composition, duties and competencies of the above mentioned institution.
