Abstract This Law, consisting of 5 Chapters, establishes the State Animal Sanitary Protection (SIDAN). It aims at the promotion and implementation of strategic sanitary measures in order to eradicate infectious, contagious and parasitic animal diseases, such as: bovine spongiform encephalopaty, etc., through control and inspection on animals and animal products. The implementation of these activities will be carried out by the Executive Secretary of Agriculture, Irrigation, Fisheries and Supply (SEAGRI) in order to protect animal and human health as well as the surrounding environment.
