Abstract This Law establishes legal grounds for certification of produce, equipment, processes and technologies for ensuring protection of human life, health and natural environment, determines rights and duties of certification process. The Act consists of eight Sections divided into 21 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) national compliance mark and accreditation; (3) compulsory certification; (4) voluntary certification; (5) rights of suppliers; (6) liability; (7) international agreements; and (8) conclusive provisions. The scope of certification shall be protection of internal market against adulterated and fraudulent produce. National compliance marks shall be used for compulsory and voluntary certification within national certification system. Suppliers of produce shall have the following duties: (a) to certify produce included in the national list of products subject to certification; and (b) to label certified produce with national compliance mark.
