This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 34 articles divided in five Chapters, provides for the Food and Nutrition Security of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro (LOSAN-RIO), and creates the System and Policy for Food and Nutrition Security of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro. This Law establishes definitions, principles, directives, objectives and composition of the Food and Nutrition Security System of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro (SISANRio), through which the Public Power, with the participation of organized civil society, will formulate and implement policies, plans, programmes and actions, with a view to ensuring the human right to adequate food. In addition, it creates the Food and Nutrition Security System of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro - SISAN-Rio to achieve the human right to adequate food and nutritional security of the population of Rio de Janeiro, made up of a set of governmental agencies in the Municipality and by private institutions related to the human right to adequate food and nutritional security that show interest in integrating the System.
