Abstract This Law, consisting of 14 articles, regulates the management of non-hazardous and non-inert solid waste produced by large generators. The management of solid industrial waste, health services and basic sanitation, construction and demolition is not subject to the provisions of this Law and must comply with specific federal and district legislation. Non-hazardous and non-inert waste produced by natural or legal persons in non-residential establishments are treated as household solid waste if they cumulatively have: I - nature or composition similar to that of solid household waste; II - daily volume, by autonomous unit, limited to 120 liters of undifferentiated solid waste.
