This Law enters into force six months after the date of its official publication.
Abstract

This Law regulates social relations and establishes legal, economic and organizational grounds for the activity of natural and legal persons in the sphere of energy saving and raising energy efficiency. The Act consists of 7 Sections divided into 24 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) state regulation in the sphere of energy saving and raising energy efficiency; (3) general requirements in the sphere of energy saving and raising energy efficiency; (4) arrangements for ensuring energy saving and raising energy efficiency; (5) state support in the sphere of energy saving and raising energy efficiency; (6) rights and duties of the subjects of energy saving and raising energy efficiency; and (7) conclusive provisions. The main directions of state regulation in the sphere of energy saving and raising energy efficiency shall be: (a) technical regulation; (b) sustainable energy tariff setting rules; (c) stimulation of energy saving and raising energy efficiency; (d) state supervision over efficient management of energy resources; (e) promotion of economic, ecological and social advantages of the efficient management of energy resources; and (f) enforcement the national legislation on energy saving and energy efficiency.
